HeadStart Participants Step into the Great Outdoors for an enjoyable Adventure
18th August 2026
HeadStart participants enjoyed a fantastic day of fresh air, friendship and fun this week when they joined us at Milnrow Memorial Park for an action-packed outdoor adventure.
The group set off together on a scenic walk through the local countryside, taking in the beautiful surroundings while enjoying plenty of conversation along the way. The relaxed atmosphere gave everyone an opportunity to socialise, strengthen friendships and openly share their thoughts, feelings, likes and dislikes as well as positively looking to the upcoming transition.
After an enjoyable walk, the group stopped for a well-earned picnic lunch overlooking the reservoirs. With spectacular views providing the perfect backdrop, participants had time to relax, recharge and enjoy each other’s company.
The fun continued on the journey back to Milnrow Memorial Park, with a variety of games and activities keeping everyone entertained along the route. There was plenty of laughter, teamwork and encouragement as participants got involved and made the most of their day outdoors.
The trip was a wonderful opportunity for participants to stay active, connect with nature and spend quality time together in a welcoming and supportive environment. Everyone returned to the park having created happy memories from another brilliant HeadStart experience.
A huge well done to all of our participants for another incredible session! We’re already looking forward to seeing what adventures and challenges Week 4 will bring!
These sessions are completely free of charge and run in partnership with EFL in the Community and Altus education partnership. There are limited spaces still available book your child’s place today: Transition HeadStart – Rochdale AFC Community Trust
